Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)

IWRM is participatory planning and implementation tool that promotes the coordinated development and management of water, land and related resources, in an equitable manner without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems. Our consultants have vast knowledge and experience in the management of water resources.

Water allocation plans: Preparation and review of master plans for water allocation to facilitate the coordination of shared water resources among various sectors.

Capacity development: Capacity development and training using participatory approaches at all levels involving all relevant stakeholders in the management of water resources.

Surface and ground water monitoring: Data collection and analysis on the quality and quantity of surface/groundwater including; relation between groundwater flow and water-quality, with focus on pathogen detection and transport in water systems, simulation of groundwater/surface-water systems, land use and climate change effects on groundwater and surface-water, model calibration and evaluation of predicting uncertainty, organic and inorganic toxicology of water systems.

Monitoring and evaluation: Monitoring and evaluation are vital for effective management of projects as they identify the needs for adjusting management strategies. Eco niche evaluates projects related to the effects of water-use, land-use, and climate change on groundwater, surface-water, and the ecosystems that rely on them.

Design of water use and ecological restoration plans including integrated water and wastewater management plans, storm water management, water use licencing and wetland rehabilitation management plans.
